     We send you greetings from the Global Voice Project. Global Voice is part of the Community Chest, Inc., a private, non-profit organization in Virginia City, Nevada. The purpose of the Global Voice Project is to raise personal and political awareness among youth in Northern Nevada to help us take action on issues we believe are important in our local and global communities. Our youth have completed an international exchange with youth from Northern Ireland and are continuing to learn what is happening globally instead of just in our homeland.
     In January, 2006 Global Voice hosted its second international youth exchange. A group of ten Storey County youth and college students traveled to Escuinapa, Mexico for two weeks to work in a low-income middle school. Escuinapa is the home of a former exchange student who attended Virginia City High School in 2004, and her parents, both educators at the school, invited us to visit their community and assist them by bringing enrichment programs in music and sports and by helping them create a library service for students.
     We are excited about representing our local communities, our state, and our nation—representing you and your organization abroad. Won’t you consider supporting our group?
